10 Princess Wedding Dresses for your Barbie Wedding

Barbie has a long history with marriage, let's dive in to learn more and find you your dream Barbie princess wedding gown, from fluffy trumpet skirts to big and bold A-line dresses!

Barbie is an industry within itself, with the doll being conceptualised by Ruth Handler in the 1950's, named after her own daughter Barbara. It was created as an inspiration to empower young girls to be anything they wanted, with Barbie's many career paths being showcased in the recent release of the 2023 'Barbie' film, starring Margot Robbie.

Handler didn't want Barbie to aspire to marriage and children as her life goal, as this was a path expected of girls in the 1950's, so she refused for Barbie to get married to Ken. But, this didn't stop Barbie donning princess wedding gowns throughout her shelf life, including special Barbie wedding sets and bridal Barbie dolls, allowing those that wanted to choose marriage for Barbie to be able to live out this fantasy. Marriage is now a choice for most modern couples, allowing children the fantasy of marriage if that aligns with their wishes.

If the recent 'Barbie' movie release is anything to go by, Barbie continues to inspire generations with her fashion and we've taken inspiration from her many beautiful bridal gowns to bring you our pick of the perfect princess wedding dresses to fit your Barbie wedding theme!

1. Ellis Bridals - Elle

A modern and romantic wedding gown, the on-trend neckline will flatter any body shape. The 3D lace details feel so Barbie, reminiscent of the embellishment seen on vintage bridal barbie dolls.

2. Esé Azénabor - The Enchanted Collection

Barbie bridal dolls are known for their exaggerated proportions and flouncy materials, and this Esé Azénabor fishtail wedding gown is the perfect example! The embellished skirt and diamond-studded mesh bring the Barbie style to the 21st-century, whilst harkening back to vintage dolls such as the Bob Mackie 1992 Empress Bride Barbie doll.

3. Ines Di Santo - Vibrato

Putting us in mind of those Barbie birthday cakes with a doll head poking out of an iced cake we had during our childhood, the Vibrato gown by Ines Di Santo is a trumpet gown with a gorgeously textured circular skirt. All that fluffy texture has got us dreaming of Margot Robbie's Vivienne Westwood Barbie-inspired dress she wore for the Pink Carpet at the Barbie movie London premiere.

4. Nardos - SS24 Bridal 'Bridal 27'

This tulle confetti sequin embroidered ball gown gives us Barbie vibes with the sparkly embellishment and big A-Line skirt. Even the glistening bridal headpiece feels reminiscent of 80's bridal barbie looks, adding the glitz we love about the world's most famous doll.

5. Reem Acra - Julia

Plucked straight from the cartoon Barbie films 'Barbie as Rapunzel' or 'Barbie in the Nutcracker', this fantasy floral dress features a structured bodice and cascading embroidered skirt. Styled with pink florals and a fishtail plait, it is every little girl's dream Barbie wedding dress!

6. Anne Barge - Inman

Tiers of tulle form this princess wedding gown, with a fun, playful touch of lilac to the fabric adding that childlike Barbie twist. The tulle overlay on the corset bodice blends each piece seamlessly so you can feel every bit the perfect Barbie wedding doll.

7. Kelly Faetanini - Chelsea

The Chelsea dress by Kelly Faetanini mimics the ruffled fabric look we know so well from Barbie wedding sets. The cascading tulle ballgown train is actually detachable which is ideal for an evening wedding look and allows you to mix and match pieces just like a Barbie doll!

8. Maggie Sottero - Cyprus

This floral jacquard bridal gown will fit any princess wedding venue, from castle weddings to enchanting manor house wedding venues. The metallic floral motifs add some shine as you waltz down the aisle, and it even has pockets for all your accessories!

9. Berta - Maggiore Collection '24-11'

If you're searching for a classic princess wedding gown, look no further than this satin beauty from Berta bridal. The structured ruched bodice contrasts beautifully to the liquid silk pleats, with a touch of Barbie elegance added through the white opera gloves.

10. Justin Alexander - Gracelyn

This low V-Back Trumpet Wedding Dress with Ruffle Skirt combines vintage lace with a modern plunging neckline, uniting the old style with the new. We can just see you floating down the aisle in this stylish wedding dress as part of your very own Barbie wedding set.
