Barnyard Bliss for Nina and Isaac's Rustic Wedding in Wisconsin

A 19th-century farm played host for Nina and Isaac's 'I do's' among vibrant and autumnal scenery, read on for all the details…

Venue: Enchanted Barn

With cattle roaming free over the pastures and the rolling hills of Wisconsin’s countryside as a backdrop, Nina and Isaac’s stunning ceremony glowed in the autumn light. They opted for a September wedding, when the temperature had cooled but the flowers were still blooming from the summer, in order to make the most out of the natural decoration of midwestern America at that time of year.

Aiming for as much of a close-knit ceremony as they could, the couple decided on 140 special guests - a combination of their large families on both sides, and closest friends. “Choosing who was and was not invited was difficult for us, but we wanted our wedding to be as intimate as possible,” the bride explains. From the bride able to spend time with her mother, sister and bridesmaids in the morning, to her father crying bittersweet tears while walking her down the aisle, the couple’s tough guest-list decisions paid off during the emotional, heartfelt ceremony.

Nature’s palette of pine trees and cloudy skies were reflected in the décor chosen for the ceremony - the deep greens of bridesmaid dresses and groomsmen’s ties, paired with pristine whites of the bride’s dress and rose bouquets scattered around the venue. The gloomy, autumnal ambiance of Wisconsin enhanced the rustic charm of the Enchanted Barn, providing the perfect setting for their fall wedding.

“The Enchanted Barn was a beautiful location,” glows the bride. “It's private, and surrounded by rows and rows of trees that are beautiful shades of red, orange and yellow around that time.” Dreamy string lights draped over the reformed dairy farm twinkled beneath the clouds - the flourishing, native greenery of the countryside blooming around the bride and groom’s special day.

The bride was breathtaking in her Amsale Kier dress - sheer, flowing sleeves adorned with floral embellishments, and a flattering trumpet style. “Wearing my dress on our wedding day felt perfect… I felt beautiful,” smiles bride Nina.

Specially-curated playlists of rock and roll, alternative and country drifted through every segment of the wedding, guests and couple alike dancing around the 19th-century barn all night long. Although it was important for the bride and groom to spend time with their favourite people, they also made sure to take a moment for themselves to be alone during the hustle and bustle of the wedding. “The most special part of the day was when Isaac and I had our first look before the ceremony,” the bride remembers.

After waiting to see each other all day, they hugged within the magical forest scenery with pine needles and moss beneath their feet. Tears streaming down their faces, all of the anticipation of the day melted off of them. In that moment, it was just them and the woods - the perfect start to their new, married life together.
