An Enchanting Elopement to a Canadian Cliffside

Weaving through magnificent pine trees and over rocky forest paths, Sara and Daniele wandered hand-in-hand through Banff’s finest flora and fauna on their wedding day. With their officiant, photographer and her husband as their witnesses, and the vast, pastel skies and snow-tipped mountains as their guests, the bride and groom married on the edge of a scenic cliff.

“It was the best place we could have done it,” gushes the bride. “We eloped in a dreamlike atmosphere, surrounded by beautiful nature, and the clouds reflected in the surreal water of Peyto Lake.” The couple felt as though an intimate, quiet ceremony was all they needed to tie the knot - looking into each other’s eyes and encased in some of the most stunning sights in the world.

Bride Sara explains the special relationship the couple formed with their photographer, Martina, and how this added another touching element to their day. “The best decision we made for the wedding was choosing Martina as our photographer,” she smiles. “She gave us the best suggestions for the venue, made a timeline of the elopement, and helped us step-by-step to make our magical day real and impeccable. It’s only thanks to Marina that our dream came true. Moreover, the photoshoots are the best memory we have of our special day: it was so wonderful!”

The trio explored the flourishing woods, canoed over Bow Lake, and ran through flower fields - chasing the perfect photos to capture their day, and making lasting memories whilst they were at it. As they are all avid travellers, they promised to meet up again one day in another country, and continue their adventures.

The emotional ceremony, far from their home in Italy, took place in front of the rising sun - the couple exchanging their vows in Italian while surrounded by the new terrain of Canada. The bride was captivating in her floral-embellished cropped top and flowing white skirt, with a dainty flower crown atop her tousled curls as the finishing touch, and the groom equally charming in his navy suit. The pair both wore trainers fit for hiking through the Rockies; a fun, personal touch to their already unique elopement.

As for the honeymoon, the special couple plan to travel to Australia and New Zealand to quench their ever-growing wanderlust. Adventure and memory-making at the core of their relationship, the pair will undoubtedly continue to travel throughout their lives together, and this dreamy, nature-filled wedding was just the first chapter in their story.
