A Sunny Love Story In Barbados

Beneath the dreamy, vibrant greenery of Barbados’ stunning nature, Berry and Patrick’s unique ceremony took place. A large glass tent covered the gardens, sheltering the special couple and their guests from the tropical weather, and allowing everyone to party the night away with no worries about getting damp!

The interior of the tent was decorated with huge, sweeping palm leaves hanging from the ceiling, blooming bouquets and colourful florals lining the reception tables. No decorative detail had been ignored; the bride and groom brought the surrounding jungle ambience inside for everyone to enjoy! “Holding our ceremony and reception in the Fairmont Royal Pavilion’s expansive garden space was an amazing opportunity for us,” smiles bride Berry. “The gardens were lovely, and large enough to accommodate an outdoor tent reception, which was a must for us! It also allowed us to show our guests another lovely property in Barbados.”

The bride and groom planned for an intimate ceremony – knowing that their guests would have to make the extensive trip to Barbados meant they wanted to ensure all their favourite people would be able to spend their special day with them. “Initially, it was really hard to decide on a guest count as we knew having such a small wedding meant we couldn’t invite all of our friends and there would be some tough conversations,” explains the bride. “That being said, I would tell any bride who is considering a small, intimate wedding to trust your gut and go with it!

Over the course of the weekend, all of our guests got to know one another really well and it’s been fun to see our friends cross-pollinate and continue their new friendships.” The bride radiated beauty in her custom A-Line gown – the pristine and angelic feel to her look allowed her to contrast elegantly with the rich vegetation surrounding the ceremony. “I wanted to keep it classic but fun!” exclaims the bride. “I was torn between an Oscar de la Renta dress and the dress I ultimately went with, by Britt Wood in Atlanta. I worked with a great tailor who was able to create an illusion piece and combine the two dresses – it was perfect!”

Groom Patrick matched Barbados' aesthetics seamlessly – a delicate yet fun combination of blues, greens and beiges tied together an overall dapper look. One of the most special parts of Berry and Patrick’s wedding day was the ability to spend carefree quality time with everyone who was lucky enough to be able to make it to their sunny ceremony. With live funky music playing all night long and a full dance floor, it was impossible for everyone involved in the celebration not to have the time of their lives!
