Yippee ki-yay! Western Chic for the Cowgirl bride

Your Guide to Western Wedding Accessories

When a theme blows up in the cultural zeitgeist, it is never long before it hits the wedding industry too. Cowboycore has had a renaissance in the last 18 months. We can largely thank Beyonce’s influence with her album ‘Cowboy Carter’ released earlier this year which took the world by storm and in her wake other huge artists such as Sabrina Carpenter and have been leaning into the western theme.

On the runways this autumn-winter designers including Pharrell Williams for Louis Vuitton debuted collections with western motifs, wide brimmed hats, gaucho pants and cowboy boots. High street stores are filled with western inspired pieces and it is impossible to open pinterest without seeing a hint of fringing.

There is something inherently romantic and sexy about cowboycore, whether it’s the rustic and rugged feel to the trend which evokes old Hollywood films and images of couples eloping into the Texan sunset on horseback or Beyoncé herself in boots and a pair of figure hugging Levis.

The effortless and laid back appeal of the western look is undeniably fun. Nothing screams chic like a bride in a white dress with a pair of dusty cowboy boots peeking out from under her skirt or a quick change into a mini dress and a wide brimmed hat for a party reception.

Here are a few of our favourite western-style pieces to incorporate into your wedding look :

Western fashion and its boots are synonymous, some of our favourites are Ganni’s Mid Shaft embroidered western boots. At the perfect length and heel height for dancing all night they make the perfect reception shoe and you’ll be able to wear them again and again.

They come in a range of colours but the metallic blue pair make such a unique and fun take on ‘something blue’

Suede and Fringe jackets are key for a cowboy inspired look and the perfect accessory to keep you warm as the night draws in on your wedding day. Whilst Suede and fringed jackets are in surplus on the high street at the moment, Vinted, Depop and your local vintage store are the best places to find a one of a kind western inspired jacket.  However, we are obsessed with these two  unique pieces from Mango and Free people- that are sure to serve you well beyond your wedding day and never go out of style.
