When did you first establish fielding & nicholson, and what made you choose to start your tailoring company?
The business was established in 2007. I was already working in the industry and could see the need for a higher-quality product delivered to the client with no hassle. The product could be made to the highest quality globally without the price tag of more established brands.
Tell us about the new ideas you brought to the tailoring world…
In the tailoring world, service has never been the main priority – we pinned this as our main USP. Offering a unique 5-year guarantee, flexibility on locations to suit the client, a focus on follow-up and a truly bespoke service.
Describe the experience of getting a bespoke suit. how is it different from buying a normal suit?
The measurements and fitting are crucial. We take up to 20 measurements, as well as photographs, to create a bespoke profile for our clients which is kept on a computerised system. Choice is another aspect as we have access to over 5000 cloths. Once we have a client’s profile set they can choose from any cloths to make their perfect piece. We have over 70 years’ worth of experience between us. When a client gets measured they can be safe in the knowledge it will be by someone who has devoted their life to the industry.
Do you cater a lot to grooms? and why would you recommend they opt for a tailor-made suit?
Yes, we do and have catered for over 100 weddings in our 20-year history. Not only will the suit be a good investment for a day, with the memories and photographs to last a lifetime, the suit can also be used again and again following the big day. Finally, the suit will fit the groom in a way that the peg cannot.
How do you feel about providing the winner of our wedding competition with a suit for his wedding?
