Against the panoramic views of the glistening lakes and majestic mountain peaks, Jay and Amy’s love story unfolded in an intimate ceremony in the heart of Slovenia. Overlooking the Julian Alps, the Jasna Chalet Resort provided a stunning canvas for the union of an adventurous couple, whose love story has been woven into the fabric of the landscape.
“Because of our shared love for nature and the mountains, our vision was to have a backdrop that would allow us to join together in our ideal location and allow our families to get a little glimpse into the settings in the Alps that we find so special,” shared the couple. “We had visited Lake Jasna in the past and knew just how perfect the location was. Our wedding planner Tatjana had a connection with the owner and when we heard it was a possible venue, it instantly jumped to the front of our list because it matched our vision perfectly.” The couple’s union was a testament to their shared passion for nature and the great outdoors as this was the very place Jay chose to propose to Amy.
“Slovenia seemed to keep giving to us, it became a very special place for us which would play into why we would choose it as the wedding location later,” Amy fondly reminisced. In a stroke of serendipity, Amy found her dream wedding dress during an impromptu shopping trip in Michigan. The moment she laid eyes on the gown, she knew it was the one. Amy floated down the aisle like a cloud, her flowing silhouette harmonising with the natural beauty that surrounded her. Similarly, Jay looked every bit the dashing groom, standing at the altar with eager anticipation, ready to join his forever.
The wedding day was enveloped in a captivating bohemian theme, creating a beautiful blend of modern sophistication and cosy charm that perfectly complemented the natural surroundings of the Slovenian Alps. “Again, we leaned a lot on Tatjana and what the venue already had in place. The bohemian theme carried through in displays throughout the venue. Otherwise, we mainly stuck with the look that Jasna Chalet Resort already has in their event room because it was already a beautiful mix of modern and cosy, chalet-style design.”
As the night fell into the celebration, their love seemed to illuminate the very air, creating a scene straight out of a fairytale. Their wedding in Slovenia will forever be cherished as a poignant testament to the timeless allure of love and the profound splendour of discovering one’s soulmate in the most unexpected locations.
