We spoke with Daniel Carvajal, Vice President of Liry’s Jewelry, all about what this family-owned company can offer to the groom who wants to show off his personal style on the big day…

WHAT CAN LIRY’S JEWELRY OFFER FOR GROOMS?
“You only want the best for your wedding day and our extensive collection boasts over 100 men’s wedding bands in a range of karats, budget points and designs. I think what we can offer grooms that is different from other brands on the market is our commitment to using only genuine gold and silver products and we have over 30 years industry experience.”
HOW CAN GROOMS GET THE PERFECT WEDDING RING?
“The most important piece of advice I can give is to trust your preferences. It’s natural to want advice from your loved ones but it is crucial to remember you will be the one wearing the ring every day. From a practical aspect, choose a ring with a ‘comfort fit’ edge so that the ring can move more easily and not pinch the skin.”
WHAT DIFFERENT METALS CAN YOU CHOOSE FROM?
“There are a range of metals to choose from, we offer differing gold options in terms of purity and durability to suit preferences, or if you need a budget-friendly alternative, you could opt for 925 sterling silver. 14k gold is a really popular and versatile choice, but we know every groom is different so choose what fits your style and your budget.”
HOW CAN GROOMS ENSURE THE RING IS COMFORTABLE?
“This is a really important consideration and may seem tricky to get right, but there are a few steps you can follow. A really effective method is to go into various stores and try on rings to help you understand what looks and feels best for you. It’s worth noting that most jewellery stores also do not charge for sizing your finger, which is an essential step to get the correct fit. If you do end up purchasing your ring from Liry’s Jewelry and it is the wrong size, don’t worry! We’ll happily create a new one for you so you can have the perfect fit.”
WHAT DESIGNS DO YOU SEE TRENDING FOR 2024 GROOMS?
“We actually don’t see many trends in the ring world for grooms, the timeless styles seem to age the best and grooms are fairly stubborn to move away from that! It is such a personal item that we see our clients gravitate to what fits best with their individual style. In our experience, the one design that consistently comes up for grooms is the plain gold band, typically in the 5mm width range. This is the favoured choice and we can see why, classic is best.”
WHAT WOULD YOU RECOMMEND FOR GROOMS WHO WANT TO SHOW OFF THEIR PERSONAL STYLE?
“If you’re looking for a unique twist on your wedding day accessories, we can definitely help with that! One of the most creative ways to personalise your wedding band is to add stones, maybe you could go beyond diamonds and choose the sentimental birthstones of you and your partner. Or you could get roman numerals of a significant date inscribed or a product like our ‘Roman Ring’ to fit the aesthetic. For a truly personal design, go down the custom route by browsing our designs for inspiration or using pictures for us to create a ring that is uniquely yours.”
WHAT OTHER JEWELLERY PIECES WOULD YOU RECOMMEND FOR GROOMS?
“I would recommend a bracelet as a versatile and stylish addition to your wedding day look. A clean and simple Cuban bracelet can complement any style of suit and it is a piece you can wear for the rest of your life. If it’s your first time dipping your toes into the world of bracelets, I’d recommend starting somewhere in our 5-7mm range so it is both low-key and comfortable for you. For a more open-shirt, casual look, you could have a chain instead of a tie or bowtie to finish off the look. Also, we have an array of chains and bracelets that make great groomsmen gifts and rather than the usual poorly made items, these will last a lifetime to create a meaningful token. The one piece of advice I would leave grooms with is to avoid adding other rings to the look, it is your wedding day, so stick with the one special ring to symbolise your commitment and dedication.”
