Amidst the enchanting land of Oman, Diya and Eashan embarked on an odyssey to celebrate their love, a wedding that would forever be etched in their hearts. Seeking a destination close to Mumbai, they discovered a hidden gem that would captivate their souls and create everlasting memories for their loved ones.
“We wanted somewhere close to Mumbai so our friends and family could arrive smoothly and comfortably and so we settled on the Middle East. Oman was a new destination for us and something that hasn’t been explored by our friends or family before so it was a great unique destination. It was love at first sight seeing the beautiful views of the beach and mountains as well as the excellent hospitality of Shangri-La Al Husn, Muscat.”
Nestled between the majestic mountains and the azure waters of the Arabian Sea, Oman proved to be the perfect backdrop for their magical union. The wedding venue, with its breathtaking views of the landscape, painted a picturesque scene that seemed straight out of a fairytale.
The “big fat Indian wedding” was a grand affair with 350 guests in attendance that was seeped in rich culture and tradition.
“There were around 350 people who attended the wedding, we privatised the entire hotel and part of the second family resort of the same complex. Indian families are large, and we wanted to share the experience with everyone we could.”
Opting for a vibrant colour scheme, the couple incorporated multiple themes throughout their celebration such as glitz and glamour, secret garden and beach party, adorned with colourful flowers which were the main focus of the décor and fit with the extravagance of a big fat Indian wedding.
“For us this included a host of arrangements and services especially since ours was a big fat Indian wedding with loads of festivities, food & artists. We, along with our planners from Mumbai (Momentum Experiences), had several local service providers to curate each function which indeed had vivid flavours. Imagine the Indian henna event on the beach to the Sangeet at the resort’s amphitheater with music, decorations and stage all for us. Our Wedding ceremony itself overlook the gorgeous and iconic Muscat arch, with the sea and dramatic cliffs at the same time.”
As the festivities continued into the night, guests were treated to a feast of delectable cuisine from all region of India. From succulent grilled meats to aromatic rice dishes, every bite was a culinary delight that showcased the richness of Indian gastronomy.
As the evening progressed, the dance floor came alive with joy and laughter. Diya and Eashan, surrounded by their loved ones, swayed to the rhythm of the music, their happiness contagious. The night sky twinkled above, mirroring the sparkle in their eyes, as they celebrated their love and the beginning of a new chapter in their lives.
