Let’s go through the weird and wonderful trends expected to dominate 2026…
After we posted our first list, we sat back and thought about some of the biggest upcoming trends we might have missed. With so many burgeoning vogues spilling into the industry in 2026, there are some that we really must talk about! Weird and wonderful seems to be the marital motive in 2026, with vibrant colour palettes and strange arrangements leading the charge as we storm into the new year. So lets break down another 5 of our favourite trends moving forward into 2026…
1. Retro Romance
Reminiscence and romance come hand-in-hand with our first entry, with the emergence of the “guest throwback experience” as a way to entertain your esteemed attendees. We’ve mentioned the presence of retro gaming experiences at post-nuptial celebrations here, but this trend takes things a pixel further. Many couples are opting to bring the arcade straight to the party, with claw machines stuffed with toys, classic pinball contraptions complete with flashing nights and air hockey tables tailor made for a spot of competitive fun. So, if you and your forever valentine have a soft spot for vintage games, this trend will certainly be for you!

2. No More Neutrals
No longer do neutrals reign supreme – in 2026, vibrant shades and brightly coloured flushes are adorning wedding palettes en masse. Picture hazy sunset shades such as flush pinks, burnt reds and balmy oranges, combining to create a brightly coloured, supremely eye-catching visual flair to your ceremony and proceedings. Whether you’re opting for a regal, deep rouge theme, a muted garden themed via olive and orchid décor or wish to inspire thoughts of the setting sun with citrus set pieces, one thing is for certain – bold colour schemes are back in a big way.

3. Champagne Over Cake?
Got your eyes set on a conspicuous alternative to the traditional cutting of the cake? Well, a stylish and utterly memorable alternative is gaining traction this year in the form of the Champagne Tower. Providing equal parts visual flair and sentimental symbolism (champagne is often associated with joy and celebration), watching the contents of your favourite bottle bubbly cascade down the pyramid of glasses grants your guests with the perfect photo opportunity. Alternatives to age-old traditions are quickly gaining traction as Millennial and Gen Z couples begin to tie the knot and this trend is definitely one to keep an eye on!
4. Sky-High Celebrations
2026 has sent this trend into the stratosphere, rising above all other methods of photography to capture your big day from a brand-new angle. Drone photography is an increasingly popular medium in general, with many shutterbugs launching their technology sky-high to capture breathtaking shots from a perspective rarely seen outside of a plane ride. Picture this (no pun intended) – sweeping shots of yourselves and your guests in your finest, as you indulge in the festivities without the fear of a non-candid photo op; sounds great, no? For those planning to get hitched in a more naturalistic location, a spot of drone photography is the ideal way to capture both your celebrations and the majesty of your chosen location!

5. Polaroid Party Plans
Polaroid cameras and photo opportunities have taken the wedding world by storm over the past few years and 2026 is proving to be no different. However, instead of placing a camera on each table for guest driven camera work (still a great idea!), many couples are opting to apply their in the moment snaps to their table plans. Often displayed in a grid or sometimes via an interactive guestbook, where your nearest and dearest can check in with a personal photo, picking polaroids adds a personal touch to your ceremony. In 2026, it’s time to embrace instant pictures across the board!

Thanks again for checking out another 5 of our favourite wedding trends moving into 2026, we hope you’re having a great start to the year!
