Castello di Spessa Golf Wine Resort & SPA in Capriva del Friuli, the oldest Castle in the Collio area, with its unmistakable silhouette stands on the top of a small hill with 43 rooms, in the heart of Collio Goriziano, land of great wines and ancient history.
Castello di Spessa is a 13° century manor that housed the Friulian nobility, with illustrious families such as the Torriani, descendants of Charlemagne, owning it for over 300 years. Over the centuries, the castle has welcomed figures of great prestige, such as Lorenzo da Ponte, Mozart’s librettist, and Giacomo Casanova.
It represents the perfect location for wine lovers: from the ceremony in the vines of the estate, to the aperitif served in the ancient cellars, until the wedding banquets with fairways fused with the vineyards together in the background. Here everything leads back to wine.
Ceremony and the wedding banquet can be also organized in other locations of the estate, like the Restaurant “La Tavernetta al Castello”.
Civil weddings, symbolic ceremonies, ethnic wedding rites can be celebrated inside the historical halls, in the wide park or in the vineyards.
Thanks to banqueting service, your wedding will be organized from start to finish, taking care of every detail. The vineyards of the Castle merge with the fairways of the golf course, offering unique settings for banquets in country chic style.
Welcome aperitif can be served in the park facing the driving range, inside the medieval wine cellar, in the nineteenth-century halls or on the panoramic terrace overlooking the secular park.
For the wedding lunch or dinner place, you can choose between the nineteenth-century halls or the centuries-old park, perfect for both banquet and party. Aperitif, lunch and dinner are managed by our kitchen brigade.
Not forgetting the Vinum SPA, perfect to take a break and relax before the ceremony, with wine therapy and beauty treatments, with the new cosmetic line made with must and pomace, ideal also as wedding favors.

Wine tasting and cellar tours: guests can participate in a guided tour of the ageing cellar followed by a tasting of Castello di Spessa wines from the DOC Collio and DOC Friuli Isonzo lines. During the tour, the historic military bunker, built during World War II, is also explored;
