The striking natural beauty of São Miguel was the perfect setting for the magical ceremony that unfolded on the island. As the largest and most vibrant of the Azorean islands, the cradle of Mother Nature was an enchanting spot for the couple to exchange their vows.
Choosing AVVA Eventos in Villa Franca do Campo as their wedding venue was a decision that felt almost fated. Although unexpected, the island held a special place in Stacey’s heart as both her parents immigrated to the US from the Island many years ago. “Throughout our relationship, water was a common theme and something that has always been in the background in terms of important moments in our relationship” smiled the couple.
The sun cast a golden glow upon the 43 beloved guests as they gathered on the sandy shore. With the crashing waves as their witness, Owen and Stacey exchanged vows in a breathtaking ceremony overlooking the horizon. “To mesh the trip of a lifetime, with being surrounded by family and friends from the US, Bermuda and São Miguel on our wedding day is one of the things we think made our wedding experience unique.”
Stacey emerged like a vision, her gown billowing as light as a feather. The delicate fabric chosen to keep her cool on the sun-drenched summer day, seemed to dance with the ocean breeze, accentuating her radiant presence. “I was glad that I opted for a ceremony wedding gown that had less layers of ‘poof’ because it was a summer day and it helped me stay as cool as I possibly could” recounts the bride. The groom looked pristine and dashing in his suit, harmonising with the bride. “I felt like a million bucks and was thrilled with the way my groomsman and I looked” said Owen.
As the evening unfolded, a stunning fireworks display illuminated the night sky, casting vibrant colours that danced in harmony with the crashing waves against the black sand. The bright moon, hanging like a shimmering jewel in the heavens, served as a celestial backdrop, amplifying the magic of the fireworks and adding an ethereal touch to the celebration. Adorned with the timeless beauty of blue hydrangeas, the dream of an elegant seaside wedding came to life thanks to our wedding planner’s attention to detail. “It was the ideal theme for us because it focused on our love for the ocean”.
