On the shoreline of this sun-soaked Mediterranean escape in Limassol is one of the island’s finest five-star retreats AMARA. For a romantic runaway, this gourmet getaway plays host to a swathe of star-studded restaurants. From couples looking to host foodie festivities in the ballroom, newlyweds and wedding guests can also devour world-class menus with a slice of Cyprus’ year-round sunshine.
Headlined with restaurants from some of the world’s most treasured chefs, all found under one roof, AMARA features restaurant Matsuhisa: from the iconic chef who fuses his travels around South America with his Japanese heritage. Whilst closer to home are the decadent truffle dishes from Michelin-starred Giorgio Locatelli and carnivorous creations from meat master Riccardo Giraudi and his restaurant Beefbar.
Delivering delicious destination weddings, AMARA has a dedicated wedding specialist to ensure each Cypriot celebration uniquely reflects the couple whilst bringing their day to life. Crafting a luxurious experience that echoes the five-star escape, working closely with the hotel’s in-house florist, the team collaborates with couples to create a bespoke menu of dishes, including towering wedding cakes, all baked on-site.
Suitably named after the ancient Greek word ‘amarantos’ which translates as everlasting’, AMARA is a hotel that honours the ancient heritage of its location. The place where the Goddess of Love Aphrodite emerged from the sea, to this day incredible archaeological discoveries can also be seen locally, offering an insight into centuries gone by.
The latest addition to the Stademos Hotel Group collection, the AMARA is the slickest, most luxurious of the group. Not only revelling in a standout gourmet offering, the impressive five-star hotel proudly exhibits an aesthetic of marble set against white walls and floor-to-ceiling windows. This makes it well equipped to invite the famous Cypriot sunshine inside, creating flood-lit rooms finished with soft, sandy tones and hues of blue and teal.
Looking comfortably out over the ocean with 180-degree views are the 207 spacious rooms. Elegantly finished, each room ensures couples feel instantly at home, whilst embodying the island vibe. For wedding groups (or those who choose to jet off on their honeymoon with loved ones) are the selection of interconnecting Deluxe Bedrooms, spacious Junior Suites, Deluxe Suites and the Duplex Roof-Top Suites with a private pool and Seafront Cabanas. Whilst for extra privacy the hotel can also check guests into soundproofed rooms on request. The pinnacle of luxury at the AMARA is the showstopping 230m² two-bedroom suite and its gorgeous terrace and private pool overlooking the beautiful coastline.
Diving into the dishes at AMARA, for celeb-worthy sushi and ceviche is Matsuhisa Limassol. The celebrated brand originally from Beverly Hills which has since gone global, the restaurant includes a whisky bar which is the ideal setting for private rehearsal dinners, plus a Teppanyaki Table for dishes that unite Asia with Latin America. Nobu’s iconic creations include salmon karashi su miso, black cod with miso, white fish dry miso and the tasty rock shrimp tempura. From the Michelin-starred London restaurant is Ristorante Locatelli, by the Italian celebrity chef Giorgio Locatelli. With the Italian truffle his trademark across his menu, many consider him one of the finest chefs in the world with dishes that focus on the quality and freshness of the ingredients. Embodying classic Italian plates, his menu at AMARA features homemade pasta, indulgent risottos and more. Meanwhile, introducing the glamour of Monte-Carlo is BeefBar. With a menu of the best cuts of meat from across the globe, BeefBar reinvents the concept of a steakhouse with contemporary, fun interpretations. From restaurateur, Riccardo Giraudo and his Executive Chef Thierry Paludeto, expect simple yet inventive dishes featuring meats sourced from Australia, Japan and the United States.
For wedding celebrations, the Banqueting Room parades a dramatic, sculpted spiral staircase opening out onto a gorgeous private event space which can be tailored to bespoke needs. With the option to be divided into smaller spaces to cater to smaller groups of just 15, this space can also be opened for larger parties of up to 350 with state-of-the-art audio-visual equipment and mood lighting.
With Cypriot sunshine filling the sky almost all 365 days of the year, the AMARA is a safe spot for wedding parties and honeymooners in search of warm days and blue skies. Complete with a string of renowned restaurants and a stunning spa with a huge sauna and indoor pool; couples and their guests can also recline by one of the serene infinity pools, which meet with the horizon of the ocean beyond.
