Charlotte Ricard-Quesada and a team of incredibly talented wedding suppliers wanted to convey the magic of the festive season and love for winter ceremonies so they poured their hearts into this winter-themed editorial

Centred around pink hues, metallics and mirrored surfaces, this unconventional take on a Christmas-inspired wedding, blends playful elements such as glitter nutcrackers and customised baubles, to regal florals and the most breath-taking historical venue of Syon Park. In order to make this vision a reality, Roberta Facchini and Chris from Perfect Moment Films were the obvious choices to capture photos and videos respectively, as their work captures light and colour so beautifully.

Light pink and white were the original colours to inspire this photo shoot, as a contrast to the usual jewel tone or red and green winter weddings. From there, they chose to highlight the pale shades with silver and gold metallics throughout, hints of fuchsia and touches of foliage and greens to add dimension. They also wanted to make the most of the venue by having a mirrored table, which would reflect the beauty of Syon Park’s Great Hall. The pale colour palette worked wonderfully with the black and white marble floor for the ceremony setup and the pink hues of the State Dining Room for the reception setup.

From the conceptualisation of this shoot, Syon Park was the ideal choice. A stunning, historical property set in acres of land, it brought the drama and heritage needed to give our soft, romantic palette the grandeur we were seeking. The Great Hall, with its Doric columns, statues and geometric marble floor was the perfect location for the ceremony setup, as it was flooded with light and contrasted with our chosen palette. As for the reception, we chose to create it in the State Dining Room, complete with Corinthian columns and marble statues.

For the groom outfits, they wanted to introduce some jewel tones, which are more traditional to winter weddings. However here, they were to contrast with the pinks and whites of the décor and flowers. The braiding detail on the jackets, loaned by Oliver Brown, added an air of distinction and elegance to both of our grooms. Era Calligraphy created the stationery especially for this shoot, focusing on a pink and white palette, even including the Christmas theme in the snowflake pattern, visible on the inside of the envelopes and wax seals. Georgia’s Cakes created a stunning cake table, including 3 different tiered cakes, cupcakes, biscuits, meringues, macarons and swirled lollipops. Flowers were crucial for this styled shoot, and Emma Soulsby created the most incredible displays fit for the grandeur of the space.

For the ceremony setup, Emma and her team created a contemporary and unique take on a Christmas tree fit for the theme, which included pink pussy willow, cherry blossom and hanging baubles. These trees substituted a traditional arch and created a focal point for the ceremony, aided by the arches, sculpture and doorway in the background.
The focus for the table setup was on the three symmetrical gold trees which framed the table, interspersed with candelabras, candlesticks and bud vases (which were later reused on the cake table). Emma also tied in the décor to the room by displaying additional bud vases and candelabras on one of the dining room’s marble top tables.
As for our groom’s buttonholes, they directly complemented the setup of the day, in the paler pinks and whites to avoid clashing with their jacket colours.
