Our very own Weddings & Honeymoons Media team has partnered with the sophisticated hotel DUKES London to bring you an original wedding shoot with a special focus on sustainability, ethereally photographed by Jennifer Jane Photography. With this editorial, we’ve showcased the romantic world of modern-day weddings and the timeless beauty of London’s historical hidden gems to inspire couples to tie the knot fully immersed in the elegance of the English capital. The blissful location makes for a quintessential London elopement with your love. DUKES London, tucked away in the historic St James’s Mayfair, is, by far, one of the city’s best-kept secrets. Secluded enough to exude privacy and ideally located amidst London’s chicest neighbourhood, it’s a tranquil setting perfectly curated to make any couple’s wish come to life! Offering an intimate atmosphere for lovebirds to spend quality time in, an attentive and friendly approach to make you feel at home, and a culinary destination for delectable memories, DUKES London depicts the ideal London escape for small gatherings.
During our shoot, we worked with DUKES London to showcase creative and awe-inspiring ways couples can make the most of smaller spaces. Almost every corner can transform into a romantic spot to record memories in, and we made sure the hotel rooms were adorned to accommodate newlyweds from their ceremony to their final toast. The quaint Drawing Room transformed into an exquisite venue for cosy soirées. Decorated with an overflowing arch of blooms by Moyses Stevens, it opened the way to the stunning courtyard garden flooded with natural light. This picturesque setting is where our models soaked up the warm sunshine and shared special moments of delight and laughter.
The St James Suite, adorned with precious golden framed mirrors, is an ultra-elegant room suited for ceremonies and receptions, and it created the perfect blank canvas for us to create an indoor idyllic floral world. We brought in colour and light with the floral arrangements crafted by Moyses Stevens and the tiered cake artfully made by GC Couture. The inspiration for the cake came from the beautiful Grace Kelly. Named “Grace”, this white, 4-tier classic yet unique wedding cake is made with 4 different flavours, the ever-popular Vanilla made with pure vanilla beans, Red Velvet, Rich Chocolate using only the best sourced cocoa, and Carrot and Walnut – a huge favourite amongst couples. The fresh and elegant cake is perfect for a modern city affair and with the floral compositions, a bit of countryside was brought into the wedding space to illuminate the scene. The in-house planner at DUKES adorned the tables gracefully, creating three different styles of table settings, from simple and sleek to elegant and grand to match any budget.
Sustainability is at the core of this shoot. To enhance this aspect, we selected a group of suppliers that thrive in the eco-friendly wedding world, from Lebrusan Studio, Lily & Roo and The Vintage Ring with their handmade and bespoke jewellery designs and The Loop and Brides Do Good, who repurpose stunning wedding dresses and gift them with a second life. Beautifully designed in England, Camille Headpieces provided ethereal pieces to complement the bridal looks, and Rainbow Club provided an array of accessories and shoes to help us add glamourous final touches to the outfits. The grooms stunned in Favourbrook, a staple brand, all made in England. With the statement styles displayed across the editorial, we wanted to convey a modern feel juxtaposed with elegant British charm, and the Bridal Suite at DUKES showcases this beautifully. Two of our brides rested and prepped themselves amidst the beauty of the Duke of Clarence Suite and soaked up the sun from its luxurious and bright room. With a private balcony, this is the perfect space for your getting-ready moments and your first night as a married couple. The day was elevated with the fragrant perfumes by Floris London, which could be your signature
wedding scent and a delicate memory to keep with you forever.
With our shoot, we wanted to show couples that by focusing on the details and working with dedicated and passionate suppliers, a dream wedding celebration is guaranteed. From the bespoke fragrance experience with Floris that couples can infuse their wedding day with to the “hand-tied” technique used by Moyses Stevens to allow each beautiful stem to have movement, every small feature has its added value and shines throughout the shoot. On your wedding day, you can personalise anything you wish, whether you want to create your own wedding fragrance or choose particular floral decorations such as bud vases to bring colour and romantic notes to your tablescapes. Especially when you are working with an outstanding team of suppliers who understand your vision perfectly, you can bring any wedding day to life. Stationery is just as important as any other detail and sets the tone for your entire day. You start by sending out your invitations so guests get a feel of how the wedding will look like. In the shoot, we decided to focus on the elegance of the flower world to bring pastel hues and ethereal notes to the city. We aimed to create a fairytale environment in an urban space, making sure plenty of natural elements were brought into the hotel.
It’s not a London wedding without a stop at a classy bar to toast to a new chapter in life. DUKES Bar provides the perfect setting for unforgettable moments with your partner and wedding guests. An elegant and timeless feel oozes throughout the space, and we felt it would be the ideal way to end a day of celebrations. We had our models change into something sparkly and party-worthy. The Loop stocks unique pieces and we picked a few looks to match the chic ambience. The party moment is when you can let your hair down and celebrate a successful day of love, and an intimate setting like a cosy bar does the trick. We wanted to recreate a London city afterparty style of celebration, with luxurious nibbles and a selection of personalised cocktails to elevate the event. Every DUKES Martini or personalised cocktail served at the internationally acclaimed bar is something of an occasion. Frequently visited by James Bond author Ian Fleming, the legendary DUKES Bar is the perfect end to a big day in the English capital.
