We sat down with Esther Bolkart and the team at finestdecor to learn more about their floral design and event planning passion…
What sparked your passion for creating events?
When I began my career as a wedding florist, I quickly realised how much impact I could have on one of the most special days of a couple’s life. Flowers have the power to transform a space, create an atmosphere and tell a story – and I loved creating something unique for every couple, inspired by their personalities and their love story.
I wanted to take this passion one step further, so I completed a course in event and wedding planning and began building finestdecor around the idea of creating the perfect wedding from both a florist’s and a planner’s perspective. Being able to shape not only how a wedding looks, but also how it feels and flows, is what continues to inspire me every day.
Tell us about yourself and your company.
I am a mum of two with a big passion for love, beautiful details and aesthetics. Over the years, I have had the privilege of bringing together an incredible team of women who share the same passion and, just like me, strive to make a little magic happen on every wedding day.
At finestdecor, we put our heart and soul into what we do. We always give 110% to our couples, listen carefully to their ideas and look for creative ways to bring their vision to life. For us, it is not about creating a wedding that simply looks beautiful – it is about creating a celebration that feels personal, authentic and truly belongs to the couple.

What sets your business apart from others?
At finestdecor, couples can have their wedding experience all from one source. We combine three areas that naturally belong together: floral design, wedding planning and stationery.
We create beautiful floral installations and arrangements and love adding personalised details such as chandeliers, colourful linens or carefully selected decorative elements. As wedding planners, we keep an eye on every detail, coordinate the different vendors and make sure everything comes together seamlessly – allowing the bride and groom to relax, be present and fully enjoy their wedding day.
We also design bespoke stationery that complements the overall wedding concept, from invitations and menus to place cards and other personal details.
Our couples can choose the full package or combine our services according to their individual needs. This flexibility, together with our personal approach and strong eye for aesthetics, allows us to create celebrations that are both beautifully designed and thoughtfully planned.

With more than 15 years of experience as wedding florists, we bring a deep understanding of flowers, styling and event design to every wedding. Combined with our expertise in wedding planning and stationery, this allows us to create a cohesive concept where every element works together.
Whether we are designing an abundant floral installation, planning the entire wedding day or creating personalised stationery, we always look at the bigger picture while paying attention to the smallest details.
Most importantly, we want our couples to feel that they are in the best hands. They should be able to trust us, enjoy the planning journey and, when their wedding day finally arrives, simply be present in the moment.

What are some of the latest trends you love?
As wedding planners, we love seeing couples put more and more thought into creating an unforgettable and personalised experience for their guests – going far beyond the classic wedding favours.
We see wonderful ideas such as handwritten letters for each guest, quizzes about the couple, or personalised photographs used as name cards at the tables. These small gestures show guests how much they mean to the couple and create moments that feel genuinely personal.
As florists, we are particularly loving the monochrome trend – using different shades, textures and varieties of flowers within one colour palette. The result can be incredibly elegant and sophisticated while still making a bold statement.
We also love seeing couples move away from the traditional bridal bouquet and embrace large, bold and sculptural floral arrangements. Oversized bouquets with abundant flowers, interesting shapes and a strong visual presence can become a real statement piece and add a contemporary touch to the bridal look.
But while trends can be a great source of inspiration, our favourite “trend” is individuality. The most beautiful weddings are the ones that feel unmistakably like the couple.
What is one piece of advice you would give couples?
Don’t follow social media trends or expectations from family and friends – create a wedding that is truly your own.
Think about how you want your wedding day to feel and what matters most to you as a couple. Choose the traditions you love, leave out the ones that don’t feel right and don’t be afraid to do things differently.
And choose your venue and vendors carefully. You will be working closely with these people and trusting them with one of the most important days of your life. Make sure your instinct tells you that they are the right fit – not only professionally, but also personally.
Ultimately, your wedding should be a reflection of your relationship. Years from now, you should look back and remember it as the perfect day for you.
