Having recently tied the knot to become Mr & Mrs Clare in a gorgeous city ceremony, we caught up with Love Island: All Stars winners Molly and Tom to find out about their upcoming Mallorcan celebrations…

After being crowned winners of the first series of Love Island: All Stars, Molly Smith and Tom Clare now find themselves in another whirlwind situation… planning their destination wedding in Mallorca. With a romantic Dubai proposal last year and the new podcast hosts of NearlyWeds, our Features Editor, Callum Topazio, caught up with the down-to-earth duo for an unfiltered and honest view on wedding planning as their destination celebration edges closer.
(Interview correct as of April 2026)
Q: First of all, congratulations on your engagement and the NearlyWeds podcast! How does it feel to be in this chapter together?
T: Thank you so much. It definitely feels right. Things are going really well and everything’s going smoothly. What more could we ask for? We feel so lucky to be doing this together.
Q: So as we speak today, it’s exactly four months until your wedding day.
M: You’re spot on, four months today! It’s going to come round so quick and it’s also starting to feel more real the closer it gets as well. I think back when we got engaged we were just wrapped up in all the excitement, but now it’s like wow we’re getting married so soon.

“We feel so lucky to be doing this together.”
Q: What stage of the planning process are you at now? What is left on the to-do list?
T: We’ve done all the major bits so just the little details to sort now, just making sure everything is perfect. It’s been a lesson in how far in advance you need to sort out everything.
M: Yeah, final kind of touches now and attention to detail. Mind you, we still need to sort a wedding cake and finalise the floral design. Perhaps we need to have these catch-ups every week and I’ll just update Tom as we go along!
Q: How have you found planning your destination wedding so far?
M: We’ve been very lucky to be in a position to work with a wedding planner to support us and take all that stress off, and with our planner, Talia, being based in Spain as well she’s perfect for knowing who to contact. It also takes away the worry of a language barrier as she switches from Spanish to English in conversation so effortlessly, she’s been incredible. So Tom and I are lucky to feel really calm about it, I think if we had to do it all ourselves that wouldn’t be the case!

“We’re sharing it with the people who have supported us to get us where we are today.”
Q: And how about the hard decisions you have to make, like the guest list and the wedding party, how do you handle those conversations as a couple?
T: I think I’m a lot more black and white than Molly is and able to make decisions without feeling bad. For the guest list, I want people at our wedding that when we look back in 40 or 50 years time that we are still in touch with them and talk to them. So, everyone we’ve got there we love and care about a lot which is what it’s all about.
M: It was difficult but I think the venue only held a certain amount of people as well and we’re lucky enough to fit in pretty much everyone that we want and hold close to our hearts. In a way, it’s kind of a blessing to have the venue limit as otherwise it kind of spirals into inviting everyone and rolling out the invitations to plus ones and extra friends.
T: Yeah, bring the dog, the postman… and the milkman can come as well! Seriously though, we’ve got our 70 loved ones coming which is perfect for us.
Q: Your bridesmaid proposal was stunning Molly, what did that moment mean to you?
M: Aw thank you! I think I’ve been a bridesmaid too many times now, so to actually have a moment where I’m asking people to be my bridesmaid was quite surreal, so I wanted to make it special. I did the planning and organising and I wanted the girls to feel as special as they are to me, it was my way of giving back to them. And they all said yes, so that’s the most important thing!

Q: Planning is definitely a real test of a couple and how they bounce off each other, how do you both handle the pressure when it feels overwhelming?
M: My go-to would be a workout or taking Nelly for a walk for sure.
T: Yeah, I’m very calm, it takes a lot to stress me out, but I know if Molly hasn’t had her workout she’s not herself. But for me, if I’m hangry then I need to eat before I can do anything.
M: There’s been a few times when I’ve thought Tom needs feeding before I even approach this subject, it’s knowing what the other one needs.
T: We get each other in and out and we’re also best friends as well, we laugh all the time and can joke together, and when we need to be serious we can be serious too, but we do have that best friend side as well which is so important.
M: We both have the same end goal and I think that’s what you need to remember when you’re planning a wedding, even when we do argue or bicker, we just have to remember that we want the same thing at the end of the day.

Q: How do you both feel about the public attention directed at your big day?
T: I think through doing the podcast and putting it out there, we’re sharing it with the people who have supported us to get us where we are today. We want to give back and our followers want to know what we’re up to, so of course we want to share it with them.
M: It feels right really, doesn’t it? We started our relationship on TV and sharing it with everyone feels natural, to suddenly go private wouldn’t reflect the type of people we are anyway.
T: Especially with the podcast now, people are really engaging on this journey with us which is really nice and we’re learning so much from the listeners’ advice.
Q: And what is some of the best advice you’ve received?
M: My eldest brother actually gave me some advice the other day, and my best friend mentioned it too, but it was to make sure you have five to ten minutes just solely with your partner on your wedding day to really soak in all the emotions. Even if that’s when you’re sat at the top table, just to have a good look round and take it all in to imbed that memory in your brain. You need to remember it’s about you two and this is your day to enjoy as well.

“I can’t wait to watch Molly walk down the aisle.”
Q: To finish, let’s do some quick-fire questions with you both. I’ll start with, best moment of wedding planning so far?
T: Food tasting.
M: I knew yours would be food! Why am I not surprised? It was the first time we saw the venue for me.
T: In fairness, seeing the venue I did actually get goosebumps.
Q: Who’s more likely to cry first on the big day?
M: Tom. I say that because my makeup artist will be so mad if I ruin my glam, but I think I’ll tear up and just have to fight the tears!
Q: What moment can’t you wait for once you are in Mallorca?
T: I think for me to watch Molly walk down the aisle with her Dad, and to look out and see all my family and friends, I can’t wait for that moment.
M: I don’t think my favourite moment is going to be walking down the aisle because I’m going to be nervous. I’m looking forward to when it’s a bit more relaxed and we’re sat at dinner looking out at all our loved ones. The speeches as well, I’m excited for that.

“We get each other in and out and we’re also best friends as well.”
Q: Dream honeymoon destination?
M: We don’t know! We’ve got a few ideas of places, someone mentioned Hawaii the other day and I thought that would be sensational.
T: Definitely a beach destination, I’m not looking for a city break, I like to be on the sand getting a tan.
Q: What have you learned about each other throughout the planning process?
M: I’ve learnt that if I give Tom a list of jobs, he will do them and listen and act upon it, he doesn’t need my help. But I have to give him a precise list for him to follow first.
T: I’ve learnt that Molly can handle the pressure, I thought she would be a lot more stressed than she is, but she’s been pretty calm so far, no bridezilla just yet!

From villa winners to nearlyweds, it’s clear they are approaching this next chapter exactly the same way they handled life after Love Island… side by side. With August in Mallorca firmly on the horizon, we wish Molly and Tom all the best for the final stretch of their wedding planning and can’t wait to see what promises to be a beautiful celebration come to life.
