Tina & Richard
PAPHOS, CYPRUS
Vasko’s proposal was as unexpected as it was unforgettable. There was a single rose placed in front of me, and he asked me to pluck its petals one by one.
Hidden within the delicate folds was a beautiful engagement ring. When I looked up, Vasko was down on one knee, asking me to marry him. It was the most romantic surprise imaginable and even more special because it happened on 15 March, the exact date we had first met five years earlier.
With more than 200 guests travelling to celebrate with us, it was important to find a venue that felt both spacious and personal. The Hyatt Regency Sofia captured that balance perfectly. Its modern design, sophisticated interiors and impeccable service created a setting that felt luxurious without being overwhelming.

After two years of planning, the wedding morning felt almost dreamlike. “Getting ready felt surreal. Everything had been organised perfectly, but the excitement and nerves just kept building as the day went on,” she says. From flowers to hair and make up, transport to timing, every detail had been handled beautifully. “We felt like celebrities.”
The bride travelled to the ceremony in a vintage Beauford car, waving to onlookers along the coastal road. “It made me feel like a queen,” she smiles. Then came Richard’s show-stopping arrival as he appeared in a speedboat to the astonishment of their guests.
The ceremony itself was deeply moving, followed by heartfelt speeches, a dazzling firework display and a mesmerising performance by Cypriot dancers that delighted every guest on board.
In keeping with the blue theme, the bride’s bouquet was a blend of white and blue blooms, carefully chosen and customised with the help of the Exclusive Yacht Weddings team. Matching buttonholes and corsages complemented the look, and she even crafted additional corsages herself for the ladies in their party.

Music played an important part in their celebration. “We both love Celine Dion, and her song Because You Loved Me means everything to us,” the bride says. They signed the register to a piano version of A Thousand Years and stepped ashore to Walking on Sunshine, the perfect upbeat anthem for the moment. The cake cutting was accompanied by a fun version of Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch, setting the tone for the evening ahead.
