Honouring tradition & love

Petra & Mitra

Casters Cove, Trinidad & Tobago

Our wedding took place in Trinidad in June, a month that holds a special place in both our hearts. I’ve always dreamed of being a June bride, and it’s also the groom’s birth month, making it doubly meaningful. This month will forever be a time of celebration for us, marking two unforgettable milestones.

We chose to honor tradition with a Hindu wedding ceremony, which included a Mehendi night and a Haldi night, followed by a reception at Caster’s Cove. We love being near the water and often watch sunsets together, so this venue felt perfect, providing the ideal backdrop and ambience for our special day.

Shopping for our wedding outfits was an adventure, especially since we wanted to surprise each other. Instead of matching, we opted for the thrill of revealing our looks for the first time on the big day. My traditional bridal outfit was custom-designed by Armaan’s Bridal in New York. I knew exactly what I wanted, and customizing it allowed me to achieve the deep red shade I envisioned, with intricate crystal work instead of embroidery. My wedding dress and veil were also custom-made by designer Vanessa Alfaro in California, featuring our initials in crystals for a personal touch. The groom’s traditional Hindu attire came from PK Fashions and was accessorized with a regal sword, while his reception look was a sleek black Perry Ellis suit paired with a chocolate-brown tie.

It’s hard to pick one standout moment from the day, but seeing each other for the first time in the temple is forever etched in our memories.  Our first dance was to “Can’t Help Falling in Love” by Haley Reinhart, a song that perfectly captured the depth of our connection. To make it even more unforgettable, we decided to enhance the dance with special effects, including cold sparks and delicate snowflakes. It was a visual metaphor for our union, two unique souls blending seamlessly into one, a moment that left everyone in awe and that we will carry in our hearts forever.

From the start, Jennifer of JG Signature Weddings transformed what could have been an overwhelming process into something effortless. She took the time to understand our story, personalities, and vision for the day, curating moments rather than just executing details. Every challenge was met with calm precision, allowing us to stay fully present. On the day itself, every floral arrangement, transition, and candlelit corner felt intentionally designed for us. Entrusting our wedding to Jennifer wasn’t just a smart decision, it was what allowed us to celebrate with full hearts and absolute joy.
