EARLY BIRDS
The proposal took place in the very early morning before a flight for these two lovebirds. “Ralu was checking her emails and I handed her a piece of paper with a romantic poem written on it,” Victor told us, “She didn’t catch on at first, probably because it was five in the morning… But then I pulled out a little ring box and she was so overwhelmed, eventually shouting ‘yes!’ and we kissed and called all our family and friends to share the news. I think they forgave us for the early call when they heard about the reason!”
AN INTERNATIONAL GUESTLIST
Thanks to their wish to have a religious ceremony on the beach with sea views, the couple went on the hunt for somewhere to host their extensive guestlist. “We really wanted our wedding to be on the beach, but also somewhere private and large enough to accommodate all of our guests, including overnight,” they explained, “we had around 200 guests, plus children. We have many friends from Romania, as well as Italy, Greece, USA and the UK, we felt so lucky that people were willing to travel from all over the world to celebrate our wedding day with us.”
BABY LOVE
Weddings are emotional occasions for all, but particularly for bride Raluca… “Raluca was around seven months pregnant on our wedding day, so she was emotional by design!”, Victor reminisced, “it was also a fairly hot summer day so was not easy for her to get ready, but she was pampered with hair and makeup, she felt amazing and looked so beautiful.”
AISLE STYLE
After visiting one exquisite Italian shop, Victor bought his wedding day look in one go, opting for a custom tailored light blue wool silk three- piece suit accessorised with a patterned tie and pocket square. Raluca started her wedding dress search months before the wedding, but the announcement of her pregnancy changed these plans completely… “She ended up working with a local Romanian designer, Alexandra Calafeteanu, just a few weeks before the wedding and had her dress tailored to her body to emphasise the beauty of being a mother. Every single material was specifically selected to suit the summer event on the beach.”
TO THE HAPPY COUPLE
Ralu’s highlight was the midnight fireworks, after which Victor had planned a surprise video montage of the story of their relationship. “Fun, Love & Prosecco was our chosen theme because we love nothing more than popping open a bottle of Prosecco and having sparkling conversation,” they added, “we wanted to add a touch of our personal stories so flowers were placed in empty glass bottles to signify Raluca’s job at Coca-Cola and Victor bought amazing mineral specimens for each guests as he works in mineral restoration.”
A NEW ADDITION
“We kept our honeymoon local as Ralu could not travel far and opted for time at the Romanian seaside and in Tuscany. It was a welcome break before welcoming our beautiful daughter, 2023 was our year.”
